Overview
This article provides steps in which a user can access the Virtual Computing Lab as hosted by Propeller.
Resolution
Please review the steps below to learn how to access and launch the Virtual Computing Lab hosted by Propeller.
Steps
1. Open the Illinois Tech Portal
First you will need to open the Illinois Tech portal at portal.iit.edu.

2. Search for Virtual Computing Labs - Propeller
Using the search bar on the top of the Illinois Tech portal page, you can type in the word VCL and you will be able to find Virtual Computing Labs - Propeller and launch it.

3. Launch the Propeller Dashboard
A new tab will open. This new tab will be the Propeller Dashboard. On this dashboard, there will be a number of applications. You can click on the application that you are intending to use and this will launch the Virtual Desktop in which the application is on.
Alternatively, there is a blue launch button on the desktop in which these applications are installed onto, you may also use this blue launch button.

4. Search for and launch the Application
Looking at the Virtual Desktop, you will see a folder named Installed Applications. You will need to open this folder and look for the application that you want to use and then launch the application.

Additional Information
Due to the nature of the Appstream environment hosted by Propeller, files cannot and should not be saved on this Virtual Desktop. After closing your current session, any saved files will be erased. It is highly recommended that work be backed up and saved regularly during any session on the Virtual Computing Lab and all files should be saved using a cloud drive, or
