Outlook: Cached Exchange Mode

Problem: Emails after older than 1 year do not appear in Outlook client. By default the client only downloads 1 year of data
Resolution: Adjust 'Use Cached Exchange Mode to download email to an Outlook data file' setting

Problem:  Emails after older than 1 year do not appear in Outlook client. By default the client only downloads 1 year of data
Resolution:  Adjust 'Use Cached Exchange Mode to download email to an Outlook data file' setting

Windows Only

Outlook(New)

  • Open Control Panel --> Mail (Microsoft Outlook) --> Email Accounts... --> Change...
  • Adjust setting under: Use Cached Exchange Mode

Outlook(Classic)

  • Goto File --> Account Settings --> Account Settings --> Change...
  • Adjust setting under: Use Cached Exchange Mode to download email to an Outlook data file.
